Sweet and Salty Honey Cheese Spread Recipe

1 (10.5-oz.) goat cheese log
1/2 C roasted, salted sunflower seeds
1/3 C honey
1 pt. fresh raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries
Garnish with fresh mint leaves

1. Press or roll goat cheese log in sunflower seeds, thoroughly covering cheese, including ends.
2. Arrange cheese on a serving platter with any remaining sunflower seeds.
3. Drizzle with honey. Sprinkle with berries. Garnish, if desired. Serve immediately with assorted crackers.


Sunflower seeds are indigenous to North America and were consumed by native peoples, raw or roasted. However, sunflower seeds were first commercially grown in Russia, then brought back to North America to be grown as a cultivated crop.
